Hoffman Estates to hold cleanup event Oct. 1

To prepare natural areas and creek lines for cold weather, the Hoffman Estates Stormwater and Sustainability commissions are sponsoring a cleanup event from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 1.

A brief meeting will kick off at 10 a.m. at the Susan H. Kenley-Rupnow Public Works Center, 2305 Pembroke Ave. Litter collection will take place in four selected areas and the village will provide collection supplies.

Volunteers should dress appropriately and wear water-resistant shoes. Commission members will be on hand to assist volunteers.

This is a great volunteer opportunity for individuals, families, and groups, but all minors who participate must be accompanied by an adult.

To sign up, visit hoffmanestates.org/sc, and complete the event form or call Ashley at (847) 781-2609.
