Season Opener At Light The Lamp Brewery. Hockey? NO...LIVE COMEDY!
A second year of live, stand-up comedy at Light The Lamp Brewery, in Grayslake, begins this Friday, September 23rd, at 8pm.
Friday's showcase is part of an ongoing series of live comedy shows co-produced by local stand-up comedian, Bobby Hayes, and Larry Bloom of Highland Park based Funnier By The Lake Comedy ([URL]www.funnierbythelake.com;http://www.funnierbythelake.com[/URL]).
"Bobby started performing at monthly comedy shows I was producing on the North Shore," says Bloom. "He began producing the showcase at Light The Lamp Brewery, in the summer of 2015. Those showcases have been very successful for everyone--the comics, the crowd and the venue."
Eventually, Hayes and Bloom decided to combine their producing efforts for the Grayslake and Wauconda shows. Bloom's Funnier By The Lake Comedy also produces live shows at Madame Zuzu's Teahouse, in Highland Park.
"It is great to start another year of bringing live comedy to the area. Each month, we get an energetic, engaged audience, and everybody has a good time," says Hayes.
Each showcase features professional comedians from Chicago, the suburbs and the region. This Friday's Light The Lamp Brewery show is hosted by Chicago-based comedian, <strong>Mike Hover.</strong> The lineup includes:
