Schaumburg businesses hear advice on online reviews

Representatives of the Better Business Bureau of Chicago and Northern Illinois spoke with members of the Schaumburg Business Association Tuesday about the value of getting their businesses accredited by the agency, and how online reviews can affect their success.

Jeff Mathews, the BBB's director of digital marketing, said online reviews and reputations create a particular image of trustworthiness, and his organization tries to help businesses manage that.

President and CEO Steve Bernas said the BBB has been highlighting the importance of customer reviews and letting businesses know the agency can be a resource for them.
