Gurnee marching bands to perform Wednesday

The Woodland and Viking middle school marching band will join the Warren Township High School Marching Blue Devils to perform their routine in exhibition style at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14 at the Warren Township High School O'Plaine campus football stadium, 500 N. O'Plaine Road, Gurnee. Admission is free, but each year school band directors choose a beneficiary of donations collected during the performances. This year's recipient will be Orphans of the Storm pet adoption shelter in Riverwoods. The drum may be filled with cash or checks made out to Warren Band Boosters. Donations are accepted for: newspapers, blankets/comforters, towels, dog bones, dog/cat treats, balls, cat trees, cat toys, dog/cat beds, sturdy dog/cat combs and brushes, cat litter and baking soda. Pet food donations are also accepted: Pedigree (dry), Mighty Dog canned dog food, Beneful prepared, Ceasars Pro Plan dry kitten food, Friskie's and Sheba Canned cat food and Fancy Feast.
