COD Continuing Education Hosts 'Sage Series' Lectures this Fall

Continuing Education at College of DuPage will host "Sage Series" lectures this fall on the College's Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd.

Part of Continuing Education's Lifelong Learning program, the "Sage Series" features local experts presenting information on a variety of topics, including alternative news sources, China, the greenhouse at COD, Indonesia and Russian foods.

· A Bite of China: Explore the history of food, eating and cooking in China.

Friday, Sept. 16, 1 to 3 p.m.

· Einstein's Theory of Relativity: Learn about Einstein's Theories of Relativity and how these theories have changed the way people understand the universe. Saturday, Sept. 17, 7:30 to 9 p.m.

· Alternative News Sources: Examines alternatives to major network news sources and how the internet has changed news gathering reporting. Thursday, Sept. 22, 10 a.m. to noon.

· "Twenty Feet from Stardom:" Free screening of the Academy Award-winning documentary "Twenty Feet from Stardom" followed by a discussion of the film. Friday, Sept. 30, 1 to 4 p.m.

· Behind the Scenes at the MAC: Personalized behind-the-scenes tour of the MAC with Director Diana Martinez followed by lunch at the student-run Waterleaf restaurant.

· Behind-the-Scenes at the COD Greenhouse: Learn the ins-and-outs of this working greenhouse and see how this dedicated staff prepares for special events throughout the year.
