Night bike ride planned Saturday in Busse Woods

The second annual Busse Woods Night Ride - an after-dark bike ride along the forest preserve's bike trail - is scheduled for Saturday night near Elk Grove Village.

Cyclists will depart in waves of 15 beginning at 7 p.m. from the Busse Woods boating center. Each ride is about eight miles long and lasts an hour. Cyclists must be at least 12 years old, bring a helmet, and have a headlight, which will also be available for sale for $15. For $40, all riders will receive a reflective ankle wrap and bike bell, and adults will get two craft beers after the ride from sponsor Lagunitas. The event also includes live music by Serendipity, bonfires and food.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will go to Friends of the Forest Preserves and Friends of Cycling in Elk Grove. For more information, visit fotfp.org.
