Images: Icons of North Barrington

What do you think of when you think of North Barrington? As a sports writer, I think of golf, naturally. Inside the gated community of Wynstone rests a beautiful Jack Nicklaus signature golf course, which this month generously hosted dozens of high school boys and girls golfers for a season-opening invitational.

Want more golf course beauty? A short drive away is Biltmore County Club, which has been recognized with the Audubon International Award for its “aesthetically pleasing grounds.”

The historic Kimberly House is tucked away along tree-lined Kimberly Road. Considered the oldest house in North Barrington according to the village website, it was frequented by our 26th President, Teddy Roosevelt, who was a cousin of the Kimberly's daughter-in-law.
