Who's Who in Health Care: Douglas Silverstein, President, NorthShore Evanston Hospital

Douglas M. Silverstein, FACHE, joined NorthShore in 1992 and served as an assistant vice president, vice president, and senior vice president at Evanston Hospital.

He assumed the position of senior vice president of Glenbrook Hospital in 1998 and president of Glenbrook Hospital in 1999, and was named president of Evanston Hospital in 2012. He received his BS from Northwestern University and his MHSA from the University of Michigan.

Prior to joining NorthShore, Silverstein worked at both the University of Chicago — Weiss Memorial Hospital and Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center. Silverstein is a fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives and has been an ACHE member for more than 30 years. He was also a member of Regents Advisory Council for 22 years and past Regent for Illinois Metropolitan Chicago.
