COD offers 'Living Well' workshops for older adults

The Continuing Education program at College of DuPage is offering "Living Well," a series of programs designed to meet the needs of community members age 50 and older.

In partnership with Advocates for Aging Well, the college is offering a series of workshops promoting living well at any age. The workshops will cover a variety of topics, including estate planning, cognition, health, and Medicare and Medicaid. All are offered at the college's Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd.

• All About the Journey for Plus 50 (HUMNT-0001-600): Attorney Nancie Dorjath discusses estate plans, trusts and the five key documents everyone should have in place. Offered from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, Sept. 14 to 28. The fee is $25.

• Exploration of the Brain and Memory for Plus 50 (HUMNT-0001-602): Participants explore how to navigate and maintain healthy brain function and memory. Offered from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursdays, Oct. 13 to 27. The fee is $25.

• Healthy at Home for Plus 50 (HUMNT-0001-603): Participants learn about decluttering, estate sale secrets and home modification. Offered from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3. The workshop is free. Registration is required.

• Medicaid and Medicare Workshop for Plus 50 (HUMNT-0001-601): Participants learn about the differences between Medicaid and Medicare, determining the appropriate Medicare plan, qualifications for Medicaid and strategies to protect assets. Offered from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6. The workshop is free. Registration is required.
