Police ask for help identifying bones found on South Side in 2005

Chicago Police are asking for the public's help identifying the bones of a teenage girl found more than 10 years ago on the Far South Side.

The skeletal remains were discovered near the Metra tracks in the 13000 block of South Indiana Avenue on April 28, 2005, according to a community alert from Area South detectives.

The remains are those of a white girl between 13 and 18 years old, according to police.

The girl was strangled and her death was ruled a homicide, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
