Glen Ellyn woman claims $16.75 million Lotto prize

A Glen Ellyn woman has claimed a $16.75 million jackpot prize, Illinois Lottery officials said Tuesday.

Sarah Weron's winning Lotto ticket matched all six numbers - 16, 24, 28, 33, 48 and 50 - in a drawing Aug. 4.

The ticket was purchased at the 7-Eleven store at 3S035 Park Blvd, Glen Ellyn. The store also will receive a bonus of $167,500, or 1 percent of the prize, for selling the ticket.

Weron, who presented the ticket at the Illinois Lottery Prize Center in Springfield, chose to receive her prize as a one-time payment of $11,464,000. She plans to share the money with family and friends, donate to her favorite charities and invest.

Weron had been playing the same Lotto numbers once a week for several years, she said in a news release.

"I just chose some numbers I liked and I stuck with them," she said.
