Washington Street closing delayed

The railroad crossing closure originally scheduled on Washington Street in Grayslake for Friday, Sept. 9 has been rescheduled. The closure of the crossing, west of Lake Street, will begin at 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16. Washington Street will reopen to through traffic at 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19. The detour will be Washington Street to Route 83, to Rollins Road, to Hainesville Road. Local traffic will have access to the Metra station entrance west of the railroad tracks, but will be closed to all traffic from east of the Metra station entrance to Lake Street.
