Boys soccer: Elgin, Crystal Lake South, Burlington Central earn wins
Elgin's boys soccer team moved to 2-0 for the season Saturday with a 6-1 nonconference win over Oswego East.
Roberto Martinez scored a hat trick for the Maroons while Cesar Gomez notched 2 goals and Omar Gonzalez a single knock.
CL South 5, Prairie Ridge 3: Andrew Grabowski had a hat trick as the Gators finished in second place at the Grayslake North tournament with this win. Ryan Coughlin and Alex Canfield each added goals for Crystal Lake South (2-2) while Spencer Traub (2 saves) and Brandon Gorka (1) shared time in goal.
Burlington Central 3, Freeport 0: At DeKalb's Barb Cup tournament, the Rockets got their first win of the season as Jack Schramme scored twice and Victor Rodriguez added a goal. David Murphy had 9 saves in goal for BC (1-1-1).
Downers Grove North 3, East Aurora 2: At the Lemont Cup, Jesus Delacruz and Edgar Caro had goals for East Aurora and Salvador Gonzalez made 6 saves in goal.
Carmel 7, Dundee-Crown 2: In the third place game of the Lake Forest tournament, Julian Ajroja scored both goals for D-C (2-2) and Luis Cruz had 6 saves in the net.
West Chicago 2, Marmion 1: Sean Miller scored for Marmion in this nonconference loss. David Chiesa had 4 saves in goal for the Cadets (0-2).
