Illinois must be voter-sensitive again

I have been following the Independent Maps proposal for two years and have helped to solicit people to sign the petition. I was delighted to hear that over 560,000 signatures were collected this year and yet a Cook County judge ruled that we cannot create an independent commission for redistricting.

I since read that our Illinois Supreme Court can rule on the petition and will hopefully allow our citizens to vote for an independent commission in November. I retired five years ago and have constantly read about our ever increasing state pensions, overpaid politicians, higher taxes and more and more people and companies leaving this state due to the seemingly uncaring work being done by our elected officials in Springfield.

Please help us make the need for an independent commission important. Let the "Breaking News" be positive instead of negative. Let Illinois become strong and voter sensitive again.
