Hanover Twp. Mental Health Board grant applications available

Grant applications for Fiscal Year 2018 are now available from the Hanover Township Mental Health Board.

Each year the Mental Health Board provides approximately $1 million in funding to agencies serving Hanover Township residents in the areas of mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse intervention and prevention. The FY18 funding period runs from April 1, 2017, to March 31, 2018.

"Since the residents passed the referendum in 1978, creating the board, the township has been committed to funding local agencies that serve our most vulnerable neighbors," said Mary Alice Benoit, Hanover Township trustee and Mental Health Board member.

"All providers serving our residents are encouraged to apply, including previously funded grant recipients, as well as new organizations."

Grant applications and guidelines are available on the Hanover Township website at www.hanover-township.org, or at the Township Town Hall, 250 S. Route 59, in Bartlett. Completed applications are due by Friday, Sept. 16. Agencies receiving funding will be notified in January 2017.

Hanover Township serves more than 101,000 residents in the communities of Streamwood, Elgin, Bartlett, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates, Schaumburg, and unincorporated Cook County.
