See 'Legally Blonde the Musical' this weekend in St. Charles

Ghostlight Arts Academy in Sugar Grove presents "Legally Blonde the Musical" at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, at the Marquee Youth Stage at the Quad, 3800 E. Main St., lower level, Studio C112, in St. Charles. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online at ghostlightarts.com/tickets or at the door.

Seating is limited, so purchasing tickets in advance is recommended.

The cast features 15 talented young adults representing several local communities including Aurora, Sugar Grove, Batavia, Geneva, Yorkville, Oswego, St. Charles, and Elburn.

A fabulously fun international award-winning musical based on the movie, "Legally Blonde," it follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes, snobbery, and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. Equal parts hilarious and heartwarming, this musical is so much fun it should be illegal!

Elle Woods appears to have it all. Her life is turned upside down, however, when her boyfriend dumps her so he can start getting serious about his life and attend Harvard Law. Determined to get him back, Elle uses her charm to get into Harvard Law. At school, she struggles with peers, professors, and Warner Huntington III. With the help of new friends Paulette and Emmett, Elle quickly realizes her potential and sets out to prove herself to the world.
