Elk Grove group gets $1.5 million in federal funding

The American Academy of Pediatrics, a public health organization, has been awarded $1.57 million in federal funding through the Center for Disease Control and Prevention to develop and strengthen community-level public health initiatives.

The main goals of the program are to update technology and data collection systems, provide community-level agencies with the resources to meet national public health standards and increase administrative efficiency.

The American Academy of Pediatrics, located in Elk Grove Village, is one of 25 nonprofit organizations participating in the program. The grant was announced by U.S. Rep. Tammy Duckworth.
