Chemical leak sickens 14 in Sugar Grove

Fourteen people were taken to hospitals yesterday morning after a chemical gas leak in a Sugar Grove business caused respiratory problems, fire officials said. Sugar Grove firefighters responded to a call at 8:20 a.m. for a chemical release at industrial chemical distributor Producers Chemical, 1960 Bucktail Lane, said Battalion Chief Mike Warner. Crystal Lake collision seriously injures SUV driver

An SUV driver was flown from the scene of a serious crash yesterday afternoon in Crystal Lake, police say. The crash happened just before 4 p.m. at the intersection of Route 176 and Briarwood Road, according to a news release. Full story.

Lombard woman pleads not guilty to running over boyfriend

A 911 dispatch center that serves dozens of police and fire departments in DuPage County plans to move into the county's former youth home by 2018. When Valerie Salmons began work as Bartlett's first full-time village administrator in 1982, the town was home to just 13,254 residents.
