Sunrise Rotary presents wine, beer, cigar fest
The Libertyville Sunrise Rotary is sponsoring the seventh North Shore Wine, Beer & Cigar Fest, from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, on Church Street in downtown Libertyville.
There will be a special V.I.P. tasting from 3 to 4 p.m. More than 200 wines, 50 craft beers, and an extensive collection of fine cigars will be featured. Food from local restaurants will also be available for purchase.
General admission tickets are $30 in advance or $40 the day of the event. Patrons will receive a tasting glass and 10 tasting tickets, which allows 10 tastes from the wine or beer booths. V.I.P. admission is $150, which allows admission an hour early, from 3 to 4 p.m. With a VIP ticket, $100 will be applied to any wine or beer purchase and a $20 raffle ticket. A partner can attend with a VIP ticketholder using their $30 admission ticket. Designated driver tickets are $10.

Buying a ticket helps more than 35 Lake County charities. All proceeds from the event will benefit the charities supported by the Libertyville Sunrise Rotary. In the club's 28-year history, it has donated more than $1 million to local and international charities, including literacy and scholarship programs, programs to combat hunger, homelessness and domestic violence, the eradication of polio and many more.
The club's 50 members are always accepting new members and welcome anyone wishing to learn more about the club to attend one of the weekly meetings.
The club meets at 7 a.m. Wednesdays at Lambs Farm, 14245 W. Rockland Road, Green Oaks. The club is a member of Rotary International, a humanitarian service organization.
