German club under investigation for severed bull's head

FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) - The German football federation is investigating an incident during which fans of home team Dynamo Dresden allegedly threw a severed bull's head in front of the stand with RB Leipzig supporters during a German Cup match.

The Leipzig team is sponsored by the Austrian energy drink maker Red Bull and has met with hostility from other clubs' fans because of its financial clout. The RB initials in its name officially stand for "RasenBallsport" (Lawn Ball Sport).

RB Leipzig, which won promotion to the top division last season, lost on penalties to second-tier Dresden in Saturday's cup match.

The Leipzig club called the incident "simply tasteless."
