Elk Grove Hometown Parade winners announced
Elk Grove Village's Hometown Parade committee has given awards to groups that marched in this year's June 18 parade.
Best theme award went to Cub Scout Pack 495 for its theme, "Yesterday's Scouts." It fit in with the parade's overall theme, "Celebrating Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow," on the occasion of the village's 60th anniversary.
The Elk Grove Village Public Library won the creative award for its "Loves the 80s" theme. The Youth Against Violence Organization from Rockford won the parade spirit award.
