Elburn Days continues to be 'a good time'

The 87th annual Elburn Days festival has something for everyone during its three-day run, which concludes Sunday at Elburn Lions Club Park, 500 S. Filmore St.

National FFA Organization and 4-H are teaming up to provide a petting zoo at the festival that will include a lamb, rabbit and a chicken.

"People will like it because they will actually be able to touch the animals," said Elburn resident Stephen Haas, who is in charge of the livestock show and auction.

Elburn Days combines agriculture-related activities such as 4-H judging and a tractor pull with traditional festival offerings such as carnival rides, live entertainment, craft shows and a mud volleyball tournament.

"I've been coming my whole life," said Joe Smith, who grew up in Elburn and brought his family from Cortland on Saturday. "We've stuffed our faces and played some games and we're going to watch the tractor pulls. It's a good time."

Elburn Days runs 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free. Visit elburnlions.com.
