Gerrymandering has to stop

This is in response to Kath Ryan's column of Aug. 9, "Join effort to change our state politics."

What can we do now? We live in a senior retirement building and many are a part of the 563,000 who signed petitions to put the Independent Map Amendment on the ballot in November. Our state is in such deep trouble many are leaving.

I was upset that Channel 11 had the topic for discussion and the guests felt the maps had to do with race. It was the first time we even heard that, we felt it had to do with the politics of the two parties. Gerrymandering the maps has to stop. Many people are living peacefully in areas with many different races and religions. It is time our politicians do the same.
