Carhartt retailer coming to Gurnee Town Center

Carhartt, a designer of workwear, lifestyle, men's women's, kids', footwear and personal protective clothing, is opening a store in Gurnee this fall.

Carhartt, a work wear brand that started in 1889, signed a lease at 7055 W. Grand Ave. in the Gurnee Town Center in Gurnee, which is owned by Retail Properties of America Inc.

The lease for the retail space will feature Carhartt's 30th company store expected to open in October.

"With Gurnee being the beltway to the lake county region of Northern Illinois and Wisconsin and its hardworking farming and rail industry histories, it quickly became an ideal location for Carhartt to target for a company store location," said Jamie Millar, vice president of retail at Carhartt. "We look forward to servicing the community in and around Gurnee with their year-round rugged apparel needs."

The Gurnee Towne Center store will occupy more than 3,900 square feet and will carry hundreds of men's, women's and kids' apparel styles, footwear and accessories. Expect to find Carhartt's iconic brown duck, sandstone and denim styles as well as the brand's all-new Force Extremes and Force performance line, Full Swing products offering full range of motion technology, and lightweight Quick Duck outerwear, among other products infused with rugged technologies such as Rain Defender® durable water-repellent outerwear and sweatshirts, the company said.

"We are thrilled to have Carhartt join the current lineup of retailers at Gurnee Town Center including DSW, Ross Dress for Less, Old Navy and Five Below," said Stacy Short, vice president, leasing director - western division. "We believe they bring an exciting concept to the center which improves the merchandise mix and enhances the overall shopping experience."
