Wheeling trustees OK tutoring company adding day care
Wheeling village trustees Monday approved a special-use plan for Blooming Minds Academy, 581 N. Wolf Road, to expand and add day care services to the tutoring services the business already offers.
Started by Olga Khamichonak, who grew up in Belarus, Blooming Minds offers tutoring in subjects including math, reading, writing, science and Russian and English language.
Full-time and part-time day care services will be offered for children ages 1 to 5 years old.
Khamichonak will add a playground, that can be accessed from each classroom, to the facility. The building also will expand to another space in the building Khamichonak is leasing.
In a letter to the Wheeling trustees, Khamichonak said inspiration for adding day care came from parents who asked her to offer expanded programming.
