COD offers classes for adults with developmental disabilities

The Continuing Education program at College of DuPage is offering a series of classes aimed at young adults with developmental disabilities through its Reach Out program.

Responding to a need in the community for classes designed for adults with mild to moderate developmental disabilities, the Continuing Education program will offer the following classes this fall term at the college's Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd.:

• Anger Management: This class explores ways to turn anger into positive action and constructive communication. Offered from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 13 to Nov. 15.

• Bullying: This class will investigate ways to deal with bullying by discussing feelings and developing strategies for real-life situations. Offered from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Mondays, Sept. 12 to Nov. 14.

• Independent Living - Roommates: This class teaches skills and techniques for dealing with issues related to living in harmony with roommates. Offered from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Wednesdays, Sept. 14 to Nov. 16.

These classes are designed for 21- to 40-year-old students and are limited to 12 students. No transportation is provided. Students do not have to reside in District 502 to attend.
