Hanover Township to host veterans' mobile unit event

Hanover Township and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs are partnering to offer a Veterans Mobile Unit event Thursday, Aug. 18, at the Hanover Township William Tiknis Campus, 250 S. Route 59, in Bartlett.

"This is a great service to our veterans who may have trouble traveling to receive, or have questions about, their medical care and the VA's programs," said Brian P. McGuire, Hanover Township supervisor. "Veterans with traveling restrictions are encouraged to contact our Senior Services Dial-A-Bus for a ride to and from the event."

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the VA Mobile Unit will be on-site in the Hanover Township campus parking lot offering veterans free physicals, primary care, preventive care and more.

Nurses staffing the mobile unit will be able to discuss results with the veteran. A DD214 or VA Benefits Card is required to receive services.
