Palatine Rotary seeks Oktoberfest volunteers
The Rotary Club of Palatine is looking to the community for new members to help them run Oktoberfest, the organization's largest fundraiser of the year, as well as the many other community and philanthropic projects that they conduct.
"Each year at our Oktoberfest celebration we meet many people who wish they had joined the Rotary Club of Palatine in time to help run the festival," club President Henry Sobotka said in a news release. "We have so much fun with Oktoberfest that people see our enthusiasm and want to get involved. We're inviting anyone who may be interested in joining the Rotary Club of Palatine to come to one of our breakfast meetings and meet some of our members."
Anyone interested in learning more about the club can attend one of its Tuesday morning breakfast meetings at the Red Apple Pancake House or email info@palatinerotary.com.
The 9th annual Oktoberfest will be held in downtown Palatine from Friday, Sept. 16 to Sunday, Sept. 18. The event is free, open to the public and includes authentic German food, beverages and entertainment, along with Family Day Activities on Saturday. Monies raised will support local community projects and charities.
