Allen J. Lynch Medal of Honor Veterans Foundation is hosting the 2nd annual "Swinging for the Vets" Golf Outing from 12:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at the White Deer Country Club, Vernon Hills.

All funds from the golf outing will be used to serve veterans and their families, and Motor Werks Auto Group is offering a 2016 BMW 228 Xdrive with an MSRP of $43,545 as a hole-in-one prize. Cost is $135 per person until Aug. 18 and $150 thereafter. Admission includes 18 holes of golf, lunch, green fees, cart, prizes and dinner. The dinner is co-hosted by the Veterans Assistance Commission not-for-profit organization.

Lake County State's Attorney Michael Nerheim is the keynote speaker and state Sen. Melinda Bush will be recognized for her sponsorship of three key bills affecting veterans and their surviving spouses. All funds raised through this event will be used to support veterans and their dependents in need.

The Lynch Foundation provides a one-time grant to veterans or their dependents to assist in overcoming a wide range of financial needs. The foundation is a program of the Operation Support Our Troops, America and IRS approved 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit organization.
