Man charged with Carpentersville burglary, home invasion

A 22-year-old man who was wanted for a home invasion in Carpentersville last month is now charged with felony burglary, according to Kane County court records.

Tyree J. Marshall, of the 6500 block of Marble Lane, Carpentersville, is accused of entering a home Saturday on the 2100 block of Orchard Lane in Carpentersville with the intent of committing the theft and then running from police, according to court records.

A message left with Carpentersville police Monday seeking additional information was not immediately returned.

Marshall also was wanted on a warrant in connection with a July 24 home invasion; he is accused of kicking down the door of an apartment on the 0-99 block of Oxford Drive and beating a woman who lived there, court records show.

Marshall was on parole from the Illinois Department of Corrections after being sentenced to seven years in prison for burglary and felony theft charges in Cook County in 2011 and 2012, respectively, along with a felony theft in Kane County in 2012, records show.

Marshall was eligible to have his sentence cut in half for good behavior and he was released in June 2015, records show.

He is now being held at the Kane County jail on $205,000 bail, meaning he must post $20,500 to be released while the cases are pending. He is next due in court on Aug. 18.

If convicted of home invasion, he faces six to 30 years in prison. The burglary charges carry a four- to 15-year sentence if convicted, but probation also is an option.
