Handing out 'free stuff' is a great job

How did I get elected for political office? I'm a politician and I say I'm going to give you whatever you want (even though I don't mention the cost), and you elect me every time.

I fulfill my promises. Darn right I do. I mostly "just" spend more than I tax each year to make you happy. All it does is create a deficit. What is that anyway? Who gets hurt?

So, I get elected year after year, giving you all that you want, with no mention of cost. I just create debt with a lot of zeros after it. Who cares? Who gets hurt?

How much is $20 trillion dollars anyway?

And I have the best ally in the world, because the real power of the financial system is not me, the politician, but the Federal Reserve bankers, who have the ability to create unlimited amounts of money and unlimited debt, to assist me in giving Americans everything they want.

Who cares? Who gets hurt? Who is the Federal Reserve anyway?

I love my job. It's got total security. Most fun job in the world. I get to spend and tax your money, not mine. Aren't you glad I represent you? Geez, I just hope no one can promise the public more free stuff than me.
