Trump slogans can't be believed

When people are asked why they will vote for Donald Trump, they say, "He says it like it is." When he says he will make America great again, they believe every word.

For over 200 years, the U.S. has been the greatest country on earth. That's why people from every corner of this earth come here to be a part of it.

Another, more volatile saying is "Let's take back our country." From whom I ask? From President Obama, our first black president, who gave 20 million people affordable health insurance? Who opened millions of job opportunities and took this country over from the worst depression since the 1930s?

If you listened closely to Mitch McConnell in 2008, he said, "We will make sure Barack Obama will be a one term president - and yes, he worked hard for that but failed.

Rebuilding our infrastructure, passing lifesaving gun laws, creating jobs - all have been ignored by our Republican Congress as though they don't exist. What does exist is a body of lawmakers sitting on their hands, collecting $174,000 a year for ignoring the people who put them there.

Donald Trump might say, "Let's make America great again," but if you can make sense of that phrase, you're a better person than I.
