Teen open mic night at the Bartlett Library

On Wednesday, July 27, 19 teen patrons attended and participated at the "Open Mic" program at the Bartlett Library.

The teen to start off the performances began the night by singing and strumming the guitar to the song of "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen. Following that was a duo of girls singing "Dark Horse" by Katy Perry. Next was a Weird Al Yankovic tribute for the song "Trapped in the Drive-Thru."

Besides the singing, there was one teen who read aloud his own romantic math poem.

Teens were able to mingle once all the performances were over. There were goldfish crackers, cookies, juice and candy available, plus a few games were set out for them to play.

An upcoming Teen Services program is "Teen Yoga" on Saturday, July 30 at 10 a.m. Learn the basics of deep breathing to help renew the body, quiet the mind and become more relaxed while performing a series of active Yoga poses. This is a fun class tailored to the abilities of the participants. Bring a yoga mat, water bottle and small towel.
