Register for College of Lake County Fall Semester classes

Fall Semester classes at College of Lake County begin Aug. 22. To view fall course offerings and learn more about how to become a student, visit www.clcillinois.edu/fall.

CLC's new Guaranteed Transfer Admission allows CLC to be admitted to one of 13 local, regional or international partner institutions by meeting program requirements. Currently, the participating colleges and universities are Arizona State University; DePaul University; Eastern Illinois University; Elmhurst College; Herzing University; North Central College; Northeastern Illinois University; University of Illinois at Chicago.

Specialized guaranteed transfer admission programs are available with American Business School, Paris, France; Olivet Nazarene University; and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Engineering. Each session lasts about an hour and includes an overview of the career field, salary, job outlook and educational requirements. New at CLC this fall

After 15 months of construction and remodeling activities at the Grayslake Campus, three new areas will be open either before or just after the start of Fall Semester, Aug. 22 in the campus core.

• Welcome and One Stop Center, with all student services offices located in one convenient location

• Café Willow, offering fresh and healthy food options in a light-filled new space overlooking Willow Lake

• LancerZone Campus Store and Lancer Book Stop, featuring textbooks, supplies and spirit wear

• Student Resource Center, which includes offices and resource centers for student activities, student government, veterans and more.

• Career and Job Placement Center

New additions at CLC's other two campuses include a chemistry lab addition at the Southlake Campus in Vernon Hills and a grant-funded active learning classroom at the Lakeshore Campus in Waukegan.

"These new spaces greatly enhance our ability to provide an environment that supports student learning and opportunities for social engagement," said Dr. Patrick Peyer, dean of enrollment services.

CLC also offers an array of noncredit personal enrichment courses, on topics such as fitness, music, computers, astronomy, writing, dance, history, cooking, jewelry making and more, for students of all ages, from children through retirees. If you need to complete a GED (high school equivalency), learn English as a Second Language or build basic competency in reading, writing and math, the Adult Basic Education, ESL and GED division offers free courses at all three campuses and other Lake County locations that also begin in Aug. 22.
