Algonquin library to host Storytelling Festival

From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Aug, 1, local storytellers and musicians will enchant audiences of all ages at the Algonquin Area Public Library's Storytelling Festival and End-of-Summer-Reading Party.

Patrons are invited to celebrate their summer reading experience and enjoy a variety of performers and activities. Kids can jump around in the bounce house and stop by the meeting room for snacks, games, and coloring sheets.

Children wearing their summer reading T-shirt will be eligible to enter drawings for prizes.

The Kona Ice Truck will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for purchases and/or redemption of "Wild About Reading" coupons.

At 10 a.m., storyteller Paddy Lynn will entertain, followed at 11:15 a.m. by music with Jodi Koplin's Jigglejam.

Children's entertainer and singer Joel Frankel will perform at 1 p.m., followed by storyteller Sandi Sylver at 2:15 p.m.

This free event is being offered in cooperation with Village of Algonquin Events and Recreation Department. It will be held rain or shine. Visit www.aapld.org.
