Rockler Woodworking to open new location in Bolingbrook

Rockler Woodworking and Hardware is expanding its operations and opening its second location in Illinois with a store set to open in Bolingbrook on Saturday, Aug. 6.

A large supplier of woodworking and specialty products, Rockler is opening a new, 8,000 square foot retail store at 139 S. Weber Road. The new location joins Rockler Woodworking and Hardware in on Golf Road in Schaumburg to serve the suburban Chicago area and it will feature a product line for woodworkers, offering a wide selection of specialty items, company officials say.

"The new, additional Chicago area store reflects Rockler's ongoing efforts to provide the community with more and better access to a truly wonderful educational resource and retail experience for woodworking and DIY (do it yourself) tools and supplies," said Dana Busch, Rockler vice president of retail.

"More and more people are tackling home improvement projects themselves and we are excited to help them," she said.

Shoppers will find a broad range of products that include power tools, laser machines, as well as unique project ideas, lumber, hardware and finishing accessories. The new store will include classroom and demonstration space, along with ongoing, free, classroom demonstrations and a knowledgeable staff to assist with project advice.

Grand opening activities will be held throughout the month of September, which will include product demonstrations, manufacturers' representatives and promotions.

Celebrating its 62nd anniversary as a family-run business, Rockler Woodworking and Hardware has 32 retail locations in 20 states and 60 independent reseller locations nationwide, as well as catalog and internet operations.

The company started in 1954, when Norton Rockler started the Minnesota Woodworkers Supply Company in north Minneapolis. It was a small mail-order business with a big aspiration - to become woodworkers' go-to resource for everything they need to complete their projects, according to the company website.

Since then, the company has grown to an industry-leading woodworking and hardware source with a nationwide chain of stores and international reach through our catalogs and website.
