Sizzling Block Party in Mount Prospect

The sidewalks sizzled even after the sun went down, but the crowds that came to the Mount Prospect Downtown Block Party Friday night clearly enjoyed the summer evening, the music and the camaraderie.

The festival is at Emerson Street and Busse Avenue. There is no admission charge.

The bands on the main stage Friday night were crowd favorites Rod Tuffcurls & The Bench Press and Sixteen Candles, who are at the Block Party most years.

On Saturday, the party is 11 a.m.-11 p.m. and while the evening is still reserved for grown-up beverages and entertainment, the morning and afternoon are all about the kids. Want to know more? Visit mpblockparty.com.
