Did you know that 4.27 billion prescriptions will be filled in 2016? Or that 355,300 Pharmacy Technicians were employed in 2015?

Community High School District 128 is pleased to announce a new Pharmacy Technician training program beginning in September 2016. This 300-hour program is offered in partnership with MK Education and meets training requirements in Illinois for a certified pharmacy technician.

Pharmacy technician students will be receive training on various pharmacy practice settings, study the classes of drugs and drug interactions, learn basic physiology, and become familiar with daily pharmacy operations. Upon successful completion of the classroom portion of the training, students will be placed in a local pharmacy for a 120-hour hands-on externship experience. This program prepares students for employment as a pharmacy technician in California and also for national certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).

The class will begin on September 13, 2016 and run through February 3, 2017. Tuition includes lab fees and externship placement.
