Boil order for two dozen Buffalo Grove homes

About two dozen homes in Buffalo Grove continue to be under a boil order Tuesday, after a water main break, officials said.

Crews repaired the segment of water main Monday night near the village pumping station between Arlington Heights Road and Regent Drive. The boil order was issued for homes on Regent Drive as a precautionary measure when the main was temporarily shut off to repair the leak, according to Mike Skibbe, the village's deputy director of public works.

The boil order could be in place for another 24 hours, when water testing should be complete, Skibbe said.

Red tags were placed on front doorknobs Tuesday morning notifying residents of the boil order.

Green tags will be hung once the water is verified to be safe, he said.
