Celebrate National Park and Recreation Month with Geneva Park District

Since 1985, America has celebrated July as the nation's official Park and Recreation Month. Created by the National Recreation and Park Association, Park and Recreation Month specifically highlights the vital and powerful role that local parks and recreation play in conservation, health and wellness, and social equity efforts in communities all across the country.

There are still lots of summer programs to try, or check out the Geneva Park District fall brochure online starting July 18, or in Geneva Park District resident mailboxes starting July 22.

Attend a free Concert in the Park at 7 p.m. every Wednesday in July at Island Park. Come enjoy The StingRays on July 20 and Mr. Myers July 27.

Splash in one the pools at Sunset and Mill Creek. Did you know that you can rent out either pool for your private event?

Have a picnic in one of our 50 parks. And while you are there, catch some Pokémon with Pokémon Go.

Play a round of mini-golf or disc golf at Wheeler Park. Did you know that Stone Creek Mini-Golf offers parties through September?

Work on your rad moves at our skate park at the South Street Athletic Fields.

Join the Teen Movie Night on Friday, July 29, at Mill Creek Pool, 39W125 S. Mill Creek Drive. "The Hunger Games - Mockingjay Part 2" will be shown from 8 to 11 p.m.

Come by Peck Farm Park and play at Hawks Hollow Nature Playground or visit the Butterfly House.

Get your sweat on and burn calories working out at the affordable fitness centers - Sunset and Stephen D. Persinger.
