Kiwanis Keeps the Parade Rocking

Kiwanis kept this year's Lake Bluff July 4 Parade festivities going long after the parade ended, with the introduction of Kiwanis' post-parade cookout. Kiwanis started the day with their 45th Annual Pancake Breakfast, and introduced their first cookout after the parade where parade goers enjoyed hamburgers, hot dogs, and cool drinks. As a result, downtown Lake Bluff and Lake Bluff Village Green was live with activity well into the afternoon, with families enjoying picnics on the green to supplement the morning's pancakes. In the process, Kiwanis smashed its previous fund raising record by about 30%. All proceeds will be donated to local charities and Eliminate, a project to eradicate Maternal Neonatal Tetanus.

"We are grateful for Kiwanis' assistance to local children's charities, and especially for playing such a key role in extending making this year's parade festivities throughout the day. They are truly a great asset of the local community", said Lake Bluff Village President and Kiwanis alumna Kathy O'Hara.
