Island Lake ready to let lose with Lakefest July 22-24

The village of Island Lake will hold its annual Lakefest celebration Friday through Sunday, July 22-24.

The festival will be held in Water Tower Park, at 429 W. State Road, Island Lake.

Music will be provided on Friday by D.J. Wayne from 5-7 p.m. with a performance by Pirates Over 40 at 7 p.m. Saturday will feature musical performances by Reely Dan at 5 p.m. and Going South at 7 p.m.

Food will be available from Luke's of Mundelein, Julie Ann's Custard, and the Island Lake Lionesses; a Lions Beer Tent will also be open during the event.

Skinners' Amusements will provide carnival rides and fun from 5-10 p.m. Friday, 1-10 p.m. Saturday, and 1-6 p.m. Sunday.

Other planned events include a hot rod car show from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday and fireworks over Island Lake at dusk Saturday.

Admission to the festival is free, with food, rides, and beer available for purchase.
