Arlington Heights a big winner in Readers' Choice contest

Arlington Heights had a lot to celebrate Thursday night at the Daily Herald Readers' Choice Best of the Best Awards.

Village President Tom Hayes was on hand to accept awards for Arlington Heights in categories where readers put them at the top of the list.

Arlington Heights was named the Best Place to Live and also reaped honors for Best Downtown Atmosphere, Best Library, Best Park District, Best Fourth of July Parade and Best Community Festival, among others.

Nearly 32,000 votes were counted in this year's online contest.
