Naperville's Anderson named 'Fair Lady'

Naperville bookseller and city council member Becky Anderson has received the fifth annual Fair Lady Award from Kidz Kabaret founder and executive director Kandiss Hernandez.

The award recognizes a businesswoman who has made a difference through significant contributions to the community. Anderson was recognized as co-owner of Anderson's Bookshop in Naperville, Downers Grove and La Grange and of ABC Fairs school bookfair company in Aurora.

She is active in the "buy local" movement with IndieBound Naperville, she co-founded the Naperville READS program and she helped launch charitable book-giving programs for the underserved called Andrea's Angels and Book Angels.

Previous Fair Lady winners include Mary Ann Bobosky, Stephanie Penick, Elizabeth Braham Spencer and Bev Patterson Frier.
