Kaneville was originally named Royalton, but this was found to be taken by another settlement. The name was then changed to Kaneville, referring to Elias Kane who was the first Illinois Secretary of State and one of the first U.S. Senators from Illinois.

What do you think of when you think of Kaneville? How about the Needham blacksmith and welding shop or Hill's County Store? Either way this picturesque little town has something for everyone to enjoy.
This charmingly small town sits just West of Route 47 and South of I88.
If you wander out that way to the outskirts of Kane County, you might see some of the 484 residents biking down Main Street or enjoying an ice cream cone at the County Store downtown.
