Images: Icons of Kaneville

What do you think of when you think of Kaneville? How about the Needham blacksmith and welding shop or Hill's County Store? Either way this picturesque little town has something for everyone to enjoy.

This charmingly small town sits just West of Route 47 and South of I88.

If you wander out that way to the outskirts of Kane County, you might see some of the 484 residents biking down Main Street or enjoying an ice cream cone at the County Store downtown.

The village was originally named Royalton but was renamed to Kaneville for Elias Kane, who was the first Secretary of State in Illinois and one of the first U.S. Senators from Illinois.

You can almost hear the crowd cheering as they wait for a game to start at the baseball diamonds.

This little village is a little off the beaten path but it's a gem that everyone should enjoy.
