Portis leads Bulls to summer win

Second-year forward Bobby Portis piled up 17 points and 13 rebounds as the Bulls won their opening game at the Las Vegas summer league, beating Boston 71-62. Bulls newcomer Jerian Grant added 14 points, while forward Jack Cooley from Notre Dame and Glenbrook South High School tacked on 11 points. The Bulls brought back Spencer Dinwiddie after he cleared waivers and the former Pistons point guard scored 10 points.

First-round draft pick Denzel Valentine had a rough game, hitting 4 of 16 shots from the field for 8 points. No. 3 overall draft pick Jaylen Brown wasn't any better, hitting 3 of 13 shots for 9 points. Guard Terry Rozier led the Celtics with 13. The Bulls play again Sunday at 7:30 p.m. against Philadelphia and No. 1 overall pick Ben Simmons.
