Gail Borden to host family picnic with whipcracker Adam Winrich

Gail Borden Public Library in Elgin invites the community to a family picnic at 6 p.m. Monday, July 11.

Bring a picnic dinner to the library's west lawn, 270 N. Grove Ave. in Elgin. Beverage and dessert will be provided by the library. At 7 p.m., see Adam Winrich and his crack whip. He performs high-energy routines with audience interaction. Routines include single-handed whip cracking, double-handed multi-crack demos, stunts and tricks including balloon popping, candle snuffing, paper cutting, flower snipping, whip dancing, wraps, fire whips, and more. In case of inclement weather, tickets will be needed for the 7 p.m. performance in the community rooms. Tickets will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis, starting at 6 p.m. at the Greeter desk on the day of the performance.
