Zeller to buy Schaumburg office buildings

Real estate investor Zeller Realty Group has a $74 million deal to buy a two-building office complex at 10 and 20 N. Martingale Road in Schaumburg, according to a report in Crain's Chicago Business.

A Zeller venture has agreed to pay about $74 million for the Woodfield Preserve Office Center, sources told Crain's.

Zeller is paying a little more than half the $136.8 million that KBS Real Estate Investment Trust paid for the 647,196-square-foot property in 2007. When complete, the deal will be Chicago-based Zeller's first purchase the suburbs since 2007, when it bought insurer Farmers Group's regional headquarters in Aurora and Old Orchard Towers in Skokie, Crain's said.

Officials from Zeller and KBS did not immediately respond to calls.
