Surprise winner in WACO's Mayors' Cup Challenge

The Woodfield Area Children's Organization congratulates the Village of Rosemont for winning the Mayors' Cup Challenge at WACO's 23rd annual Golf Classic last week.

Team Rosemont (Bryan McMullin, Mayor Brad Stephens, Nick Scala and Cam Stephens) beat teams from the Village of Schaumburg (Mayor Al Larson, Trustee Frank Kozak, Village Manager Brian Townsend and Assistant Village Manager Paula Hewson), and the Village of Hoffman Estates (Village Manager Jim Norris, Deputy Village Manager Dan O'Malley, Director of Human Resources Patrick Seger and Assistant Village Manager Mark Koplin) to take home the traveling trophy and bragging rights.

The Mayors' foursomes competed among themselves during the outing. WACO Golf Chairman Brad Belfield said, "Going in, everyone thought Schaumburg was the team to beat. The competition was fierce, but Rosemont was the clear winner."

Proceeds from the charity golf outing will be used to take more than 500 disadvantaged children Christmas shopping in early December. This will be the 23rd year WACO has hosted the Holiday Shopping Tours.
