Nominate Your Favorite Nurse for the 2016 LRF Nurse of the Year Award
An exceptional hematology-oncology nurse is dedicated, loved by patients and is an invaluable part of the blood cancer treatment team. The Leukemia Research Foundation (LRF) seeks nominations of nurses who treat leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma or myelodysplastic syndromes patients for its annual Nurse of the Year Award. Patients, family members, caregivers, coworkers, and colleagues, are all invited to nominate an outstanding nurse for the award.
Nominations are open until Thursday, Aug. 18, and application forms are available on the LRF web site at www.allbloodcancers.org/nurse-of-the-year. Forms are also available by email at Linda@LRFmail.org or by calling (847) 424-0600.
Nomination guidelines are as follows:
• Candidates must work anywhere in the state of Illinois or within 100 miles of Chicago. Includes portions of Northwest Indiana and Southeast Wisconsin.
• Candidates must hold an RN or an LPN certification and care for or serve blood cancer patients.
• Nominations must be submitted on the official LRF nomination form and filled out completely, or online at www.surveymonkey.com/r/33P9YRC.

The Nurse of the Year Award, presented annually since 1996, was created to recognize hematology-oncology nurses who give their time, compassion and heart each and every day to those touched by blood cancers. Winners will receive a nursing grant as well as funding for a gift or program for his or her unit. Public recognition and presentation of the Nurse of the Year Awards will occur at the LRF's Medical Awards Luncheon in September.
